"Winning this rally means a lot to me, especially being the last race of the season," said Mikkelsen, whose triumphant performance secured his third win in the World Rally Championship.
The event featured 23 stages running a total of 283.36 kilometers, presenting formidable challenges for all drivers. Mikkelsen's consistency and skill allowed him to fend off fierce opposition, including his teammate Sébastien Ogier, who finished just 14.9 seconds behind.
"We knew it would be tight with Andreas, but he drove superbly," Ogier said. "I was pushing as hard as I could. It’s a shame not to take the win, but we still have a strong season overall."
Thierry Neuville from Hyundai finished third, trailing by over a minute. "It was a tough rally, and while I wanted to challenge for the win, I’m pleased with the podium finish," Neuville explained, showcasing the competitive spirit characteristic of the WRC.
