Philsports Arena in Manila will host Week 2 of the 2026 Volleyball Nations League women's competition in June, continuing a streak of FIVB top-tier hosting that has helped power the sport's commercial growth in the Philippines.
The Manila leg is the second of the women's tour following the opening week in North America, and will see four nations rotated through pool play across six days. The Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine National Volleyball Federation are co-running operations alongside the FIVB, with ticketing handled through national venue operators.
Manila's record as a VNL host has been one of the few unambiguous commercial successes of the FIVB's franchise model. The 2025 women's VNL leg drew sell-out crowds across every session at the Mall of Asia Arena, and the federation has cited Philippine television numbers as among the strongest globally outside of Italy and Brazil. The decision to move the 2026 leg to Philsports Arena — a slightly smaller but more centrally located venue — reflects an attempt to keep walk-up demand intact while adjusting operational logistics.
The full list of competing teams for Manila Week 2 has not yet been confirmed, but the FIVB rotation system guarantees a mix of European, Asian and American nations across the six-day window. Tickets for the leg went on public sale earlier this month, with several sessions reportedly selling out within hours of release.
For the host country, the leg also gives the Philippines women's national team — the Alas Pilipinas roster captained by Jia de Guzman — a home stage in the world's top league. The Philippines made the 2025 VNL on a wild-card invitation and used the home stand in Manila as one of its competitive bright spots. Whether the federation receives the same wild-card slot for 2026 will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Elsewhere on the calendar, the women's VNL opens in late May before progressing through Macao, Manila and Belgrade. Hong Kong has also confirmed a hosting slot, with public sale of those tickets having opened earlier in May.
The Manila leg will be played under the FIVB's new 2026 rule package, which includes a 14-player match-day roster cap and the revised 90-second serving warm-up window. Local broadcast rights belong to the Philippine national sports network, with international distribution running through the FIVB's centralised production hub. The tournament's opening session at Philsports is expected to deliver one of the most atmospheric crowds of the entire women's VNL season.
