Victor Hoffer has won the 2026 Mayhem Classic CrossFit Semifinal on a tiebreak over Roman Khrennikov, with the pair finishing tied on 525 points after three days of competition in Cookeville, Tennessee. Hoffer secured the win by virtue of fewer third-place finishes across the six workouts.
The Mayhem Classic, run April 17-19 at Rich Froning's Cookeville facility, was the first in-person semifinal of the 2026 CrossFit Games season. Three Games qualifying spots were on offer in each of the men's and women's divisions across six workouts spread across three days.
In the men's competition, Hoffer and Khrennikov locked horns from event one and traded the lead through the weekend. Both finished on 525 points, with Hoffer winning the tiebreak rule that ranks athletes by their highest individual finishes when point totals are level. Khrennikov claimed second and the second qualifying spot.
Jeffrey Adler took third on 520 points, securing the final qualifying place. Austin Hatfield (475) finished fourth, with Colten Mertens fifth on 430 - both names that have featured at the Games in recent years but who fell short of the cut at this semifinal.
In the women's division, Paige Rodgers took the win comfortably with 530 points, with Emma Lawson runner-up on 500 and Lucy Campbell sealing the third qualifying spot on 450. Abigail Domit was fourth on 425.
Rodgers anchored her win on consistency through every test on the schedule.
"Finishing inside the top three on five out of six events," was how the event recap captured her rhythm, with no event finish outside the medal positions in five of six rounds.
Lawson backed up her win with similar steadiness across the weekend.
Lawson "had a very consistent performance throughout the weekend, making it into the top five on four occasions," the event recap noted, the type of profile that has made her a fixture in the late stages of recent Games seasons.
The weekend's six workouts ranged across the full breadth of the CrossFit testing block. Athletes ran mountain courses with log get-overs, contested Olympic lifting events, completed gymnastics-heavy chippers and were tested on endurance pieces that ran longer than the standard semifinal block.
Hoffer's tiebreak win marks the third top-three finish of his Games career and confirms him as one of the form athletes heading into the season. Khrennikov, the perennial podium threat, will arrive at the Games on equal points but with a sharpening rivalry with Hoffer to take into the season.
The Mayhem Classic was the first of the in-person 2026 semifinal block, with the Far East Throwdown, the Magic City Masters, the Legends Championship Del Mar and the Online Age Group Semifinal all running in April and early May. The CrossFit Games are scheduled for later in the year.
