PREMA Racing has confirmed the signing of Mexican driver Noel León for the upcoming 2025 FIA Formula 3 season, marking a significant step in León's racing career.
León, who completed his rookie season with Van Amersfoort Racing in 2024, showcased impressive talent throughout the year, achieving four podium finishes and contributing to seven additional top 10 placements.
Before entering Formula 3, León made a name for himself in lower-tier championships, clinching titles in the 2019/20 NACAM Formula 4 Championship and the following year’s US F4 Championship. This solid foundation laid the groundwork for his ambition to compete at higher levels of motorsport.
Recently, León participated in post-season testing in Jerez with PREMA, where he finished with the 12th fastest time over the two-day event in Spain. This direct involvement with the team has solidified his integration into the competitive environment of Formula 3.
Expressing his enthusiasm about this new chapter in his career, León stated, "I am super happy and proud to join PREMA Racing for my second FIA Formula 3 season. I’m very thankful for their trust, and I can’t wait to start working with the team and prepare for the season. I will give my absolute best to fight for both championships."
Rene Rosin, Team Principal at PREMA Racing, also commented on León's potential, noting the impressive performances he delivered throughout the previous season. "Noel put up some impressive showings this year, and we are happy to welcome him for the season. He has valuable experience in the series and great room for further improvement. Having already worked together in the Jerez test, we think he will be a good fit within our team, and we look forward to continuing the work," said Rosin.
León’s signing signals PREMA’s continued commitment to nurturing talent in Formula 3, and expectations are high as he prepares for his inaugural season with the established team. As he gears up for 2025, both León and PREMA Racing are aiming to build on their existing strengths and pursue victory on the track.
Looking ahead, the collaboration is poised to offer an exciting dynamic and competitive edge in the 2025 season. León’s insights and growing experience combined with PREMA’s successful track record in nurturing young drivers may well set the stage for a standout year in motorsport.
